The most important answers about how FishDay works.
A Location is your saved fishing spot with coordinates and details like water type or access notes. Locations are used to create Benchmarks and FishDay profiles.
A Benchmark stores one of your best fishing days for a specific location, species and date. It becomes your “gold standard” weather pattern for comparisons.
A FishDay profile compares current or forecast weather to your Benchmark to show how similar conditions are and how good the day might be.
FishDay compares multi-day weather patterns using pressure, temperature, wind, humidity, and precipitation to score similarity against your Benchmark.
Tokens are used to run analyses like weather pattern comparisons and forecast checks. You can purchase tokens to increase your balance.
Promo codes apply a discount to token purchases. The creator of the promo code earns an affiliate bonus based on the buyer’s final paid amount.
The creator receives 10% of the final amount paid after discounts. Example: $10 purchase with 10% off = $9 paid, bonus = $0.90.
Your affiliate balance appears in the Dashboard under the Referral Codes section. You can request a payout from there.
No. Promo codes cannot be used by the creator of the code.
Yes. Locations, Benchmarks, and FishDay profiles are only accessible to their creators.
Yes. Analyses are cached for the duration set in the FishDay profile so you can reopen a profile without re-running the request.
Auto-check runs once per day at the time you set in your profile time zone. It uses the forecast analysis and saves the result in your profile.
Yes. Each auto-check sends an email with the comparison score and link to the profile result page.
Token charges apply to: current weather checks (1 token), historical weather history requests (3 tokens for 3 days), FishDay comparison (5 tokens), and FishDay forecast analysis (8 tokens, including auto-checks). Cached results do not spend tokens.
FishDay supports multiple weather providers (e.g., WeatherAPI and WorldWeatherOnline) to deliver forecast and historical data.
